Keywords:

This article started from a territory currently common to most Latin American architecture schools and perhaps around the world: the low explication and systematization of knowledge delivered, and acquired during the teaching process in Architecture. This research was interested in determining, which is architect´s own object of study. To that end, aspects declared in the design studio were researched using the case study method. Teachers appreciated aspects related to the Human being (30%), and Spatial/technical aspects (70%), while arguing that the study of the inhabitant (80%) was fundamental in teaching; the graduates informed the Human being (43%) and the space (28%). The differences and contradictions observed in the results of teachers, students and graduates led to the conclusion that the lack of explicitness has not allowed to draw clear distinctions that supports the actions on project´s teaching on a common basis of shared conventions.
