IDENTIDAD, CONTINUIDAD Y LA ARQUITECTURA NEOCOLONIAL
Abstract
Texto de la ponencia presentada al Primer Congreso Hispano Cubano de Arquitectura Y Urbanismo, celebrado en el Convento de San Francisco de Asís del 10 al 12 de diciembre de 2007, con el tema “Vínculos hispano cubanos
en la arquitectura y el urbanismo”. Se refiere al proceso de reinterpretación de componentes de la arquitectura de la etapa colonial, vinculado al eclecticismo y los inicios de la búsqueda de una expresión arquitectónica propia en el siglo XX, con la asimilación de códigos modernos. También se evalúa la influencia de la Exposición de Sevilla de 1928.

Text of the report presented to the First Congress Hispanic Cuban of Architecture and Urbanism, taken place in San Francisco’s Convent from the 10 to December of 2007, 12 with the “Cuban Hispanic topic bonds in the Architecture and the Urbanism”. She refers to the process of reinterpretción of components of the architecture of the colonial stage, linked to the eclecticism and the beginnings
of the search of an own architectural expression in the XX century, with the assimilation of modern codes. The influence of the Exhibition of Seville 1928 is also evaluated.
