EL BAMBÚ: UNA ALTERNATIVA SOSTENIBLE EN EL RESCATE DEL PATRIMONIO ARQUITECTÓNICO CAYO GRANMA. SANTIAGO DE CUBA
Abstract
La madera prensada constituye una correcta selección para una amplia
variedad de aplicaciones en la construcción. El trabajo aborda las
posibilidades de aplicación de la madera prensada a partir del bambú,
en las soluciones de rehabilitación del patrimonio arquitectónico de madera
ubicado en Cayo Granma y sus alrededores, presentándose esquemas preliminares de la propuesta de un sistema constructivo con componentes elaborados a partir de tableros prensados de bambú que retoma los principios, formas y procedimientos del balloon frame, solución que caracteriza muchas
antiguas construcciones, necesario rescatar, en este contexto situado en
la bahía de Santiago de Cuba.

The wood pressed constitutes a correct selection for a wide range of
applications at the construction. This work discuss the possibilities of
application of the wood pressed on the basis of the bamboo, in the
rehabilitative solutions of the architectonic patrimony constructed in
wood and located in Cayo Granma and his outskirts, encountering
preliminary schemata of proposal of constructive system on the basis of
components elaborated starting from chessboards pressed of bamboo that
retakes the beginnings, forms and the balloon’s procedures frame, solution
that he characterizes to many of antique solutions, necessary retrieving from Santiago of Cuba, in this context placed at the Bay.
