Retrofit sostenible y espacios culturales
Abstract
RESUMEN: Este artículo trata de las intervenciones arquitectónicas en inmuebles de patrimonio industrial y de transporte, que se han transformado en espacios culturales. Elige el retrofit como metodología adecuada para evaluar e intervenir en estos viejos inmuebles, sin olvidar las potencialidades de las nuevas tecnologías, la sostenibilidad y la memoria. La eficiencia de la aplicación del método ha sido ilustrada con el ejemplo de la estación de ferrocarriles Júlio Prestes, en la ciudad de São Paulo, Brasil. El estudio resultó en una ampliación del conocimiento del campo de la arquitectura y de la ingeniería que hacen uso del retrofit para preservar el concepto original de los inmuebles y recuperar la vitalidad del lugar.

ABSTRACT: This article treats of architectural interventions on patrimonial buildings from the industrial and transportation origin, transformed in cultural spaces. The retrofit was chosen as the adequate methodology for the analysis of these old buildings, without forgetting the potentialities of the new technologies, sustainability and memory. The efficiency of the method application was illustrated by the Julio Prestes Railroad Station, at São Paulo city, Brazil. The study helped to amplify the knowledge in the fields of architecture and engineering, using the retrofit to preserve the original concept of the buildings, recovering the vitality of those places.
