Abstract

Este trabajo aborda la figura de Cristóbal Colón en la pintura y la escultura de artistas europeos y americanos. Esta representación, muy abundante, va desde un lenguaje realista y académico hasta la vanguardia del siglo XX. Esta figura tan controvertida ha dejado una impronta en toda la cultura occidental.

Abstract: This work approaches the figure of Chistopher Columbus as represented by European and American painters and sculptors. This representation, very frequent indeed, includes a variety of conceptions that range from realistic or academicist approaches to the vanguard conceptions of the 2Oth Century. His controversial figure has left a strong influence on the Western culture.
