Oscar Niemeyer: un joven centeneario
Abstract
En este artículo Roberto Segre analiza la repercusión de la obra de Niemeyer en América Latina y fuera de la región, así como la trascendencia de sus propuestas
formales y conceptuales. Evalúa factores históricos que influyeron en su arquitectura, así como la importancia que ejercieron en ella sus relaciones con Le Corbusier y con
Lucio Costa. Se destacan los aportes tipológicos realizados por el arquitecto brasileño y cómo ellos han sido adoptados y reinterpretados por otros arquitectos
notables de la región. Este trabajo forma parte de un libro que será editado en
la Universidad de Brasilia dirigido por la doctora Sylvia Ficher en homenaje al aniversario cien del maestro que se cumple el 15 de diciembre de 2007.

Abstract: In this article, the author analyses the repercussion of Niemeyer ‘s work in Latin America and in other regions as well as the transcendence of his formal and conceptual proposals. He evaluates historical factors that influenced Niemayer’s architecture and the importance of the influence exerted on his work by his relationships with Le Corbusier and Lucio Costa. The typological contributions
made by the Brazilian architect and how they have been adopted and reinterpreted by other outstanding architects are pointed out. The essay is a part of a book that will be edited at the University of Brasilia under the direction of Dr Sylvia Ficher to honour the centennial of the master to be celebrated on December 15th 2OO7.
