Los hoteles en el Malecón tradicional: una mirada a través de la evolución de la arquitectura hotelera en La Habana
Abstract
RESUMEN: Este texto trata la evolución histórica y
tipológica de los hoteles e instalaciones de alojamiento
en el malecón tradicional de La Habana. Para ello se
identifican exponentes de este tema arquitectónico en
esa área significativa por sus valores urbanísticos y
paisajísticos. Además, se realiza un análisis de cada obra
con el objetivo de exponer el desarrollo de la función
hotelera en este tramo del litoral urbano, paralelamente
al surgimiento y expansión de los hoteles en el resto
de la ciudad, así como la capacidad de adaptación a los
cambios funcionales y tecnológicos asociados a cada
período histórico.

Hotels in malecón tradicional: a glance through the evolution
of hotels architecture in Havana
ABSTRACT: This paper is about historical and
typological evolution of the hotels and lodging buildings
in the Malecón tradicional of Havana. Examples of this
architectonical function are reviewed in this remarkable
area because their urban and landscape values. The
analysis of these works permits to expose the development
of this architectonical topic on the mentioned section of
the urban seafront simultaneously to the behavior of this
issue in the rest of the city and the capacity of adaptation
to functional and technological changes relate to each
historical period.
