EL CONJUNTO HABITACIONAL DE VISTA ALEGRE, EN EL AÑO DE SU CENTENARIO
Abstract
El reparto Vista Alegre de la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba, surgido a comienzos del siglo XX, constituye un área residencial en la que se concentran indudables valores
históricos, arquitectónicos y urbanísticos. Haber sido el barrio por excelencia de la alta burguesía durante la etapa republicana, le confirió un importante repertorio doméstico que fue evolucionando en el tiempo, hasta llegar a conformar el conjunto urbano arquitectónico más representativo de ese período, en la ciudad. El presente artículo propone una caracterización de la tipología habitacional del Reparto y su relación con la morfología urbana, las cuales garantizaron un lenguaje armónico, a la vez que diverso y singular.

Vista Alegre neighborhood of Santiago de Cuba city, built at early of the XX century, becoming in a residential area in which are concentrated certain historical, architectural and urban values. It was the neighbourhood by excellence
of the high bourgeoisie during the republican period. The settlement of this social class conferred an important domestic repertory that was evolving in the time, till
conform the most representative architectural urban estate of that period. The present article proposes a characterization of the residential typology of the
neighborhood, and its relation to the urban morphology, which warrant an armonic language and at the sometime diverse and singular.
