TOWN SITE: UN CASO SINGULAR EN LA ARQUITECTURA DE LA CIUDAD MINERA DE MOA

Resumen

“Town Site: Un caso singular en la
arquitectura de la ciudad minera de Moa”
tiene el objetivo de caracterizar la
arquitectura surgida como consecuencia de
la instauración de la primera industria del
níquel en el territorio. Para lograr el
objetivo propuesto la investigación se basó
fundamentalmente en entrevistas y
conversaciones con antiguos residentes de
las viviendas e investigadores, la búsqueda
y revisión de la información bibliográfica y
materiales conservados en instituciones
especializadas y el estudio y análisis de
fotografías y planos de las obras
arquitectónicas o de los originales. Como
resultado de los trabajos investigativos fue
caracterizada la arquitectura del reparto
Town Site y definida como racionalista.

“Town Site: A peculiar example in the
architecture of mining city Moa” has been
developed in order to characterize the
architecture resulting from the
development of the first nickel industry in
the territory. In order to archive the goal
planned the research was based mainly on
neighbours and researchers, on searching
and revision of the bibliography about this
topic and different materials preserved in
specialized institutions, on the study and
analysis of photographies, charts from de
architectonic pieces on from the original
ones. As a result of the research it was
characterized the architecture of Town Site
neighbourhood and classified as rationalist.
