ESCUCHAR LA ARQUITECTURA
Abstract
El déficit actual de construcciones en la ciudad de La Habana hace necesario reutilizar las edificaciones existentes mediante adaptaciones o ampliaciones que satisfagan las nuevas demandas de la sociedad. Varios son los actores que intervienen en este propósito, pero en ocasiones estos no muestran la sensibilidad y el conocimiento necesarios para producir una intervención acorde con los valores de la edificación en cuestión. En los últimos años se han producido numerosas actuaciones en inmuebles con reconocidos valores artísticos que han cambiado arbitrariamente de piel y de contenido, para dar paso a obras ambiguas carentes del valor intrínseco que tenían antes de ser intervenidas. Esta situación va en
aumento y por ello demanda una atención priorizada por parte de las entidades
responsables de preservar el legado edificado del país. El presente trabajo pretende resumir los principales desaciertos que se han reiterado en los
últimos años, las causas que los han motivado y dar un conjunto de recomendaciones a seguir para interpretar adecuadamente el mensaje cultural que nos transmite nuestra arquitectura, y de esta forma atenuar el impacto negativo de estos errores.

As a result of a lack of construction in the city of Havana it is necessary to reuse the architectural legacy. There is a group of actors that participate in this
proposal, but all of them are not always able to do this work in the right way and because of that the architectural patrimony is sometime seriously damaged
and of course the city image too. In the recent years very important buildings have been modified into ambiguous ones. This situation is growing day by day
and demands an urgent attention from the side of the authorities in charge of preserve the architectural legacy to the present and future generations. This work
analyzes the participation of different actors in the current image of the city of Havana, the most important mistakes in the fields of renovation and addition
architectural works, their cause, and a group of recommendations to be followed by actors in order to reduce the negative impact of those mistakes.
