Teaching of Architecture Theory from a Playful Approach

The game is an enjoyable activity that serves as a means to develop skills through active and affective participation of students, so that learning becomes a meaningful experience. This article explores the importance of the game as a didactic technique applied to the teaching of architecture. A series of experiences in the area of architectural theory are presented that allowed to establish how, from a playful approach, students managed to articulate theoretical knowledge with practical sense, reducing the resistance that is traditionally presented to these thematic contents during the training of the architect. Two playful strategies were applied; the role-playing game and the design of board games, which contributed to fifth and sixth semester students being able to experience creative learning that helped them develop skills, consolidate knowledge, strengthen values, and develop competencies.
