Abstract
Desde el año 2006 la Facultad de Arquitectura de LaHabana, en la Ciudad Universitaria José Antonio Echeverría,
ha desarrollado un importante trabajo de extensión
universitaria dirigido a la conservación, valorización y
divulgación de los valores del patrimonio cultural (urbano y
arquitectónico) de Guanabacoa. Esta labor se inicia en el
transcurso del proyecto investigación y desarrollo “El sentido
de identidad en el ambiente construido habanero”, dirigido
por la Doctora Arquitecta Eliana Cárdenas, que tiene como
caso de estudio a este territorio. Desde ese momento, son
diversas las tareas en las cuales han participado miembros
de la Facultad, destacándose entre ellas la confección de
una carpeta de proyectos, atendiendo a las necesidades
de los actores locales, la cual se ha puesto en manos de
las instituciones y autoridades del territorio.
En esta ocasión se presenta uno de ellos: La rehabilitación
de los jardines del Museo Municipal, realizado por el arquitecto
Reynaldo G. Presmanes con financiamiento del proyecto
Habana Ecópolis.
