Y LA INDUSTRIA YA NO QUISO SER PALACIO
Abstract
Las primeras instalaciones industriales asumieron elementos
compositivos y formales de otras funciones que ya habían consolidado
una expresión propia. En el siglo XX la actividad industrial fue
asumiendo un protagonismo tal que llegó a imponer un lenguaje
acorde con sus necesidades tecnológicas. Se convirtió así en uno de
los muchos factores que condicionaran la aparición de la llamada
Arquitectura Moderna, ligada estrechamente a una nueva estética, la
estética de la máquina.

The first industrial facilities adopted compositional and formal
elements of other functionalities that had already consolidated their
own expression. In the twentieth century, industrial activity
increasingly took on such a starring role as to impose a language
appropriate to its technological needs. Thus, it became one of many
factors that conditioned the birth of the so-called Modern Architecture,
tightly linked to a new a estheics, the aesthetics of the machine.
