An approach to my Neighborhood in Times of COVID

An experience of dissemination of Cuban cultural heritage is presented, based on an original way of telling, conceived by Pablo Chico Ponce de León as an alternative to the mobility restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It consists of the dissemination, through different virtual platforms, of some “mosaic stamps”, in the form of postage stamps, in the fictitious “New Mail of Yucatán”, which has generated a wide exchange of criteria among its recipients. Responding to an invitation to collaborate, this article reproduces a series of chronicles of the author's pedestrian routes through different neighborhoods of the current municipality of Diez de Octubre, which were included in this project. The work provides a reflective and personal look at the heritage values of a historic area of the city whose urban cultural landscape contributes to the configuration of the enormous, varied and rich urban and architectural legacy of Havana.
