El patrimonio cultural de la Universidad de La Habana: ¿valor universal excepcional?

RESUMEN: La Universidad de La Habana, el más antiguo centro de altos estudios cubano, en casi tres siglos de existencia ha acumulado un diverso y vasto patrimonio, con destaque para su campus principal. En este trabajo, en sintonía con el creciente interés internacional por la gestión integral del patrimonio universitario, se ensaya un análisis de los valores de la Universidad por medio de la metodología de inscripción en la Lista de Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO. Métodos como el comparativo, el análisis y la síntesis y el iconológico e iconográfico, así como la consulta bibliográfica y de archivo, permitieron la confirmación del excepcional interés de los bienes materiales e inmateriales del conjunto, y la pertinencia conceptual y práctica de justipreciarlos desde enfoques holísticos.

The Cultural Heritage of the Universidad de La Habana: ¿Outstanding Universal Value?
ABSTRACT: In almost three centuries since its foundation, the University of Havana has accumulated a diverse and vast heritage, especially in its main campus. In this paper, following the international interest in the integral management of university heritage, an analysis of the University's values is developed through the methodology of inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Methods such as comparative, analysis and synthesis and iconological and iconographic, as well as bibliographic and archival consultation, allowed confirmation of the exceptional interest of the material and intangible cultural heritage of the University of Havana, and the conceptual and practical relevance of holistic approaches for its management.
