EL PARQUE MACEO DE LA HABANA ALGUNAS OBSERVACIONES SOBRE SU REMODELACIÓN
Abstract
Varios
asuntos no han quedado adecuadamente resueltos, este
trabajo se propone analizarlos, enfatizando los relacionados
con plantíos y terminaciones.
Palabras clave: diseño del paisaje, plantío, ecosistema costero,
uveral.
Abstract
The Maceo Park is one of the emblematic spaces in the city
of La Habana whose construction was finished in 1925. It is
located in the fields of former Batería de la Reina, close to
San Lázaro y Belascoaín intersection and in front of the wellknown
Casa de Beneficiencia, a charity institution. The park
is flat, elongated and covers an area of 30 000 square
meters. It was totally redesigned in 1960. The Casa de
Beneficiencia had been demolished when the construction
of the building for the National Bank of Cuba started;
however, the building was turned into Hermanos Ameijeiras
Hospital in the 80s. Nevertheless, there was a pending
matter to get a proper solution; the landscape design was
very awkward from the weather condition view points. A
new redesign, where the railing was amongst the most
evident elements, was worked out in 2001. Despite that,
there are still some features to cover; the present work will
try to make an analysis to give emphasis on the plants and
final details.
Key words: landscape design, plants, coast ecosystem, and grape
field.
