El patio y la herencia sevillana del habitar

RESUMEN: El artículo, partiendo de la esencia del patio y su importancia como ente tipológico, reflexiona sobre el modo de habitar sevillano expresado en la figura de la casa– patio, sus características esenciales, variantes, evolución en el tiempo y transferencia a ciudades americanas específicamente La Habana. Basado en estudios bibliográficos, históricos y toma de datos in situ, se relacionan las distintas expresiones que adquiere la casa - patio tanto en Sevilla como en La Habana a lo largo del tiempo. Se evoca la relación histórica que se produjo entre ambas ciudades durante el período del descubrimiento como punto de partida en la traslación de costumbres y conocimientos que materializados en la casa; convirtieron el modo de habitar sevillano en los cimientos de lo que posteriormente fue la casa habanera. Se concluye que hay una evidente extrapolación del tipo arquitectónico.

Sevillian Courtyard and Living Heritage
ABSTRACT: The article, starting from the essence of the patio and its importance as a typological entity, reflects on the way of inhabiting Seville expressed in the figure of the house - patio, its essential characteristics, variants, evolution in time and transfer to American cities specifically Havana. Based on bibliographical, historical studies and insitu data collection, the different expressions that house - patio acquires in both Seville and Havana over time are related. The historical relationship that took place between both cities during the discovery period are evoked as a starting point in the translation of customs and knowledge materialized in the house, converting the way of inhabiting Seville in the foundations of what was later the Havana house. It is concluded that there is a clear extrapolation of the architectural type.
