patrimonio industrial.
ABSTRACT: Interest in the study of the vernacular
heritage of southeastern Cuba, particularly railroad
heritage, lends itself to the analysis of material and
documentary remnants. There is a dearth of literature
on the characteristics of urbanism and architecture
linked to the introduction of the railroad in this part
of Cuba. This paper analyzes the expansion of the
railroad and settlements by using a theoretical-graphic
characterization. The paper argues that this railroad
heritage is unique in both in national and regional
contexts, adding to our knowledge and practice
