La formación del arquitecto como agente de cambio en la ciudad del siglo XXI

RESUMEN: La ciudad actual como fenómeno de alta complejidad es objeto de estudio constante. La Nueva Agenda Urbana establece como compromiso que todas las ciudades deben asumir el reto de alcanzar la sostenibilidad urbana y garantizar la calidad de vida adecuada para sus habitantes.En este trabajo se presenta un proceso de enseñanza- aprendizaje utilizado para la formación de los profesionales del futuro que deben garantizar el crecimiento y desarrollo urbanístico, necesario en la ciudad del siglo XXI. Como resultado se expone la experienciaobtenida con estudiantes de la Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad Tecnológica Equinoccial de Quito, Ecuador. Las propuestas trascendieron los límites físicos de la Universidad, al integrar los intereses de las institucionesmetropolitanas, la academia (estudiantes y profesores), y la población residente, en un trabajo complejo e importante
ABSTRACT: The current city, as a phenomenon of high complexity, is constantly studied. The New Urban Agenda establishes as a commitment that all cities must assume the challenge of achieving urban sustainability and ensure the quality of life of its inhabitants. This paper presents a teaching - learning process used to train the future professionals who must guarantee the growth and urban development necessary in the city of the XXI century. As a result, it is exposed the experience obtained with students of the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidad Tecnológica Equinoccial de Quito, Ecuador. The proposals transcended the physical limits of the University, since they integrate the interests of the metropolitan institutions, the academia (students and teachers) and the resident population, in a complex and important work
