RESUMEN: Las Terrazas constituyehoy un ejemplo único de una comunidad rural dedicada a la explotación del turismo con un fuerte compromiso ambiental. Se propone un proyecto de investigación entre la Facultad de Arquitectura y el Centro de Estudios de Energía Renovable (CETER), ambos de la Universidad Tecnológica de La Habana José Antonio Echeverría, CUJAE y la Universidad de Gent, Bélgica, que desarrollará métodos y brindará soluciones para optimizar la sustentabilidad de comunidades rurales a partir del trabajo en esta comunidad como caso de estudio. El proyecto comenzó su desarrollo en el 2017 y tendrá una duración de cuatro años. La propuesta permitirá elevar a su vez la docencia y la investigación a partir de la integración de especialistas de distintas facultades y universidades con la comunidad. En el presente artículo se exponen las ideas principales que formularon las bases del proyecto, así como las primeras acciones desarrolladas.
ABSTRACT: Las Terrazas is today a unique example of a rural community dedicated to the exploitation of tourism with a strong environmental commitment. A research project is proposed between the School of Architecture and the Center for Renewable Energy Studies (CETER), both of the Universidad Tecnológica de La Habana José Antonio Echeverría, Cujae, and the University of Gent, Belgium, which will develop methods and provide solutions to optimize the sustainability of rural communities based on work in this community as a case study. The project began its development in 2017 and will last for four years. The proposal will allow raising the teaching and research in turn by integrating specialists from different faculties and universities with the community. In the present article the main ideas that formulated the bases of the project are exposed, as well as the first developed actions.
