ABSTRACT: From a current perspective, the possibility of expanding the types of industrial waste used in construction materials is addressed, with the additional intention of contributing to the mitigation of their
landfills. The existing international situation regarding appropriate construction materials made with solid waste is examined. In this article we also analyzed with a qualitative methodological approach, the properties
of materials revealed by the results of previous experimental scientific investigations conducted in several countries on that subject by the author of the present work with his collaborators. To that end, the qualities
and values of the properties of construction materials have been described with industrial waste from various ecologically invasive landfills. The conclusions provide criteria on physical, hygienic, environmental and
socioeconomic aspects to consider extending or rejecting their use.
