ABSTRACT: This work reveals the experiences of the XII International Workshop SOS Cities, conducted in Havana under the title The Bay of Havana and its Influence Area. The meeting exposed diverse alternatives for urban solutions that constitute preliminary ideas for the intervention in the area by the responsible parties. For the School of Architecture of Havana this event represents a pedagogic experience of concrete action
on a specific place of the city, which illustrates an approach to professional work based on the combined and integral work of diverse faculty members of Latin American universities. The results of the workshop constitute fresh, novel ideas for ways of understanding the Bay, which can constitute significant models for future studies of this important area of the city.
