EL EDIFICIO DE APARTAMENTOS EN CENTRO HABANA
Abstract
ABSTRACT
For over ten years now, the school of Architecture at ISPJAE
(José Antonio Echeverría Higher Polytechnic Institute) has
developed a research aimed at characterizing and assessing
the apartment buildings in Centro Habana. This municipality
has been taken as a case study for it presents the
characterization, evolution and assessment of the existing
apartment buildings in a congested and central urban area. By
identifying the most frequent special-volumetric typologies,
measuring the noise, light, natural ventilation, temperature
and humidity, and interviewing the residents we can conclude
that: the new apartment buildings to put up in Centro Habana
should not reproduce the current typological schemes. Finally,
it is recommended that the piece of land used enables to
make better use of it and to have an appropriate interior
ambiance by basing the automated simulation of the interior
light on the proposed architectonic models.
Key words: housing, interior ambiance, central urban areas.
