Abstract
Resumen
Centro Habana, al igual que muchas áreas centrales antiguas de diversas
ciudades en el mundo, presentan una problemática de gran complejidad
provocada por el avanzado deterioro de su fondo edificado, de sus
infraestructuras, la escasez de espacios libres y la contaminación
ambiental que determinan la crítica situación de las condiciones de vida
de sus habitantes. Las tendencias avanzadas en el campo del
pensamiento urbanístico y de otras disciplinas afines, brindan soluciones
a esta problemática urbana para emprender el proceso de
rehabilitación de Centro Habana, y demuestra la capacidad de este
modelo de desarrollo urbano para preservar su profundo significado
para la ciudad y la cultura nacional y elevar la calidad de vida de sus
habitantes.
Palabras clave: valorización del patrimonio cultural, desarrollo local endógeno,
innovación, modelo de desarrollo urbano, planeamiento urbano, gestión urbana,
rehabilitación urbana y revitalización de áreas degradadas urbanas.
Abstract
The critical living condition of the inhabitants in Centro
Habana, just like in many other central areas in different
cities worldwide, is caused by the advanced deterioration
of its built depth, its infrastructure, the lack of open spaces
and the environmental pollution. The new tendencies in
the field of urban thinking and other disciplines alike provide
a solution for Centro Habana restoration process. It also
demonstrates the capability of this urban development
model to preserve its profound meaning for the city and
the national culture and for achieving a higher quality of
life of the inhabitants.
