ABSTRACT: Teaching and learning are complex processes. When these are linked to the territories, other actors are involved that interact, teach and learn from everyday problems. This shared relationship enables an irreplaceable enrichment, as the academic and the social environments converge. This article presents the results obtained in a design workshop for the urban-architectural revival of Paseo de la Avenida 51, at the request of the Government of La Lisa, in Havana, in which fifth-year students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Cujae participated. The workshop aimed to link students to the solution of real problems and to promote a sense of belonging, by involving them with the inhabitants and government institutions. The results obtained, recognized in different areas, show how the university abandons its traditional space and situates itself as another actor that contributes and learns from reality.
