Developing communicative competence of engineers and architects
ABSTRACT: The increasing scientific and technological
development requires professionals capable of
mastering the English language, so that they can access
updated information in order to adequately fulfill their
social task. However, the results obtained in applying
empirical methods such as surveys to engineers and
architects at Cujae in order to know what their interests
and needs are, concerning English language learning and
to experts from the different degree courses to collect
their opinions about the role of the English language and
its impact on the fulfillment of engineers and architects´
social task, have revealed the difficulties they still
have regarding their communicative competence in
English for Professional Purposes. This paper aims at
presenting a didactic strategy to develop the engineers
and architects’ communicative competence in EPP at
postgraduate level at Cujae.
