RESUMEN
ABSTRACT
: This historical research makes for the first time a demonstration of the significance of the work of architects Elena and Alicia Pujals Mederos in the context of Cuban architecture of the forties and fifties of the twentieth century. Primary sources of information were used, as the query of materials of different archives, specialized periodicals in architecture and urbanism, books and other complementary documents. A fieldwork was conducted, that allowed an inventory of the works, checking and updating addresses and determining their condition and values. Such actions allow to promote their recognitio as well as to increase interest not only by its residents but also by institutions of conservation of heritage.

: La presente investigación de carácter histórico fundamenta, por primera vez, la significación de la obra de las arquitectas Elena y Alicia Pujals Mederos en el contexto de la arquitectura cubana de los años cuarenta y cincuenta del siglo XX. Se utilizaron fuentes primarias de información, como la consulta de materiales de diferentes archivos, publicaciones periódicas especializadas en arquitectura y urbanismo, libros y otros documentos complementarios. Se realizó un trabajo de campo que permitió hacer un inventario de las obras, precisar las direcciones, determinar su estado de conservación y los valores de estos inmuebles. Tales acciones permiten fomentar su reconocimiento y despertar el interés por su conservación, tanto por parte de sus moradores como de las instituciones encargadas del patrimonio.
