La obra de las arquitectas cubanas de la República entre los años 40 y fines de los 50 del siglo XX
Abstract
Resumen: Durante el período republicano hubo un numeroso grupo de arquitectas que trabajaron en los diferentes departamentos de Obras Públicas, en el Colegio de Arquitectos y que realizaron una obra individual de excelente factura con códigos modernos, sin embargo no se hizo alusión a ellas, en los estudios sobre arquitectura y urbanismo hechos en el siglo XX. La referencia a las arquitectas, se circunscribió a las que formaron parte de firmas importantes como Gabriela Menéndez y Margot del Pozo. Este vacío en el conocimiento resultó motivación suficiente para este trabajo que tiene como objetivo principal precisar el quehacer de las mujeres arquitectas que trabajaron fundamentalmente en la capital del país a partir de los años 40 y hasta fines de los 50 del siglo XX, así como destacar la contribución de estas profesionales a una arquitectura cubana con códigos modernos. Los métodos empleados fueron el análisis y la síntesis, el histórico-lógico y la observación.

Female architect’s work in Cuba among the 40est and the end of the 50est of the 20th century.
Abstract: During the republican period architects’s numerous group that they worked at the different apartments of Obras Públicas, at Arquitectos’s High School that accomplished an individual work of excellent grade and had invoice with modern codes, however hint did not do to them, in studies on architecture and urbanism done in the century itself XX. The reference to the architects, he limited himself to the ones that were a part of important signatures like Gabriela Menéndez and Margot del Pozo. This vacuum in knowledge proved to be motivation enough for this work that it aims at principal to specify the women’s duty architects that worked fundamentally at the capital of the country, as from years 40 and to intentions of the 50 ones belonging to the century XX, as well as highlighting these professionals’s contribution to an architecture Cuban with modern codes. Used methods were the analysis and the synthesis, the historic logician and the observation.
