TRADICIÓN Y MODERNIDAD EN LA ARQUITECTURA DE WALTER BETANCOURT
Abstract
La arquitectura realizada por Walter Anthony Betancourt Fernández en el
oriente cubano se desarrolló en la segunda mitad del siglo XX,
específicamente en las décadas del sesenta y setenta, y representa una
forma muy particular de realizar sus obras, las que se integran de algún
modo a las tendencias desarrolladas en el País con la intención de buscar
una continuidad con los valores tradicionales de la arquitectura
cubana y su relación con las condiciones del lugar en que se
insertan.

The architecture created by Walter Anthony Betancourt Fernández in the
Cuban east was developed in the second half of the XX century,
specifically in the sixties and seventies, and it represents a very
peculiar form of carrying out his works, those that are integrated
somehow to the tendencies developed in the country with the
intention of looking for a continuity with the traditional values of the
Cuban architecture and its relationship with the conditions of the
place in that they are inserted.
