LA ARQUITECTURA DOMÉSTICA DE MADERA EN LA CIUDAD DE SANTIAGO DE CUBA
Abstract
Durante los primeros cincuenta años del siglo XX la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba transitó de forma rápida y evidente por varios estilos que dejaron su impronta en la imagen citadina; junto a ellos convivió la arquitectura de madera, tipología
que introdujo con la peculiaridad de su material y sus características arquitectónicas una tonalidad diferente en algunos barrios y conjuntos de la ciudad donde se ubicó
formando grupos. Revelar a través de estas líneas las peculiaridades esenciales del tema doméstico de esta tipología en la ciudad resulta de interés, una vez que estas viviendas dispersas en el tejido urbano enriquecen la percepción de la ciudad santiaguera convirtiéndola en un mosaico de estilos e incrementan los valores de su patrimonio inmueble, hoy para el caso de las construcciones de madera, en serio peligro de extinción.

During the first fifty years of the XX century the city of Santiago from Cuba to come across in a quick and evident way for several styles that they left its mark in the image of city; next to them the wooden architecture, typology that introduced with the peculiarity of its material and its architectural characteristics a different tonality in some neighborhoods and groups of the city cohabited where it was located forming groups. To reveal through these lines the essential peculiarities of the domestic topic of this typology in the city is of interest, once these dispersed housings in the urban context enrich the perception of the city transforming it
into a mosaic of styles and they increase the values of their patrimony property, today for the case of the wooden constructions, seriously extinction danger.
