Vivienda, teoría y práctica. Treinta años de experiencia académica en La Habana
Abstract
Resumen: Partiendo de que el rol de la academia es generar nuevos
conocimientos que se transmiten mediante la formación de pre y posgrado y se
introducen en la práctica social a través de la extensión, en el presente trabajo
se valora la evolución del pensamiento académico sobre el tema de la vivienda,
materializado en los enfoques teóricos y metodológicos desarrollados en la
Facultad de Arquitectura de La Habana, y su concreción durante los últimos
treinta años. Se trata de una investigación teórica y empírica, donde la propia autora ha sido protagonista y cuyos resultados demuestran que la academia ha estado siempre vinculada a la solución de los problemas de la vivienda, permiten
valorar la evolución del pensamiento en relación con las tendencias
internacionales, confirman la posición de avanzada de la academia en cada
momento, y demuestran la inercia que caracteriza el proceso de aplicación de
los nuevos conocimientos en la práctica social.

Housing, theory and practice. Thirty years of academic experience in Havana
Abstract: The University considered as a generating-knowledge center in
the teaching process at undergraduate and postgraduate studies carries out
extramural research. This paper assesses the evolution of the academic thinking
about housing, based on theoretical and methodological approaches used at
Havana School of Architecture during the last thirty years. The theoretical and
empirical research results show that the University has always been involved
in the solution of the housing problem; allow to assess the evolution of thinking
in relation to the international trends, confirm the leading role of the University
at all times, and demonstrate the slowness in the application of the new knowledge
to the social practice.
