Edificios altos del Movimiento Moderno
Abstract
Resumen
Este trabajo aborda la presencia de los edificios altos en la Ciudad
de La Habana, destinados a apartamentos y alojamiento hotelero,
exponentes del Movimiento Moderno, erigidos en la década del
cincuenta del siglo XX. Se analiza esta tipología arquitectónica,
desde inicios de este mismo siglo para comprender transformaciones
ocurridas en el tiempo. Se enfatizan diferentes elementos como
la espacialidad, la adecuación climática, el tratamiento de los
volúmenes, y su expresión formal, de cómo sus creadores trabajaron
cada aspecto, dándoles una impronta singular a cada uno.

Abstract
This paper deals with tall buildings erected in the City of Havana
that are used as apartments and lodgings representing the Modern
Movement built during the 50´s in the XX century. An architectonic
typology since the beginning of the XX century is discussed to
understand the transformations that had taken place. Emphasis
to different elements such as space, adequate climate, volume
treatment and their formal expression is made.
