Dynamics of Differentiation in Urban Systems: Disputes of Meaning Between Enjoyment and Desire

The coevolution processes that operate within urban systems are forms of accumulation and organization of materialities that constitute the different spatialities. Its structuring is defined from a process of socio-spatial differentiation that is characterized by the forms of assessment put into play in the orientation and reorientation of meaning inherent in all human action. A main objective is pursued based on the characterization of those dynamics of configuration of the subjective structures that condition the way in which we perceive and inhabit the urban space through a qualitative approach based on a dialectical hermeneutics where antagonistic concepts such as Enjoyment and Desire are involved. In this way, the logics with which the material and non-material components interact within the object of study are defined by the selection and differentiation operations that constitute the basis of its systemic functioning.
