UNA MIRADA AL PATRIMONIO INDUSTRIAL DE CAIBARIÉN

Resumen

Se describen las condicionantes socioeconómicas de la ciudad de Caibarién desde su fundación hasta las primeras décadas del siglo XX, asociadas al nacimiento y crecimiento de la industria, como base para su desarrollo y las implicaciones urbanas y arquitectónicas que esto trajo como consecuencia. Además se muestran aquellos ejemplos que han sobrevivido al paso de los años y se han convertido en exponentes del patrimonio industrial caibarienense como la estación de ferrocarriles, los almacenes Rodríguez Cantera, Rodríguez y Viña, La Mambisa, el ingenio Dolores y la Tenería Cazabón Genín y Cia.

It describes the socioeconomic conditions of the city of Caibarién from her foundation to the first decade of the XX century, associate to the born and increase of the industry, as base for the development and the architectonic and urban implications that this bring in as consequences. Also it show some examples that has survive at the pase of the years and they has being convert in exponents of
the industrial patrimony caibarienese like the train station, the Rodriguez, Viñas and Rodriguez Cantera depository, La Mambisa, the sugar plantation Dolores and the tannery Cazabón Genín y Cia.
