Eco- Aesthetic Evaluation of the Urban Landscape. Case Study: Alamedas of the State of Guanajuato
Keywords:
urban eco-aesthetics, urban landscape, Alamedas, public spaceAbstract
Eco-aesthetic thinking combines nature and human becoming, including the physical, biological and cultural dimensions of the environment. The objective of this work was aimed at developing a proposal for the analysis of the urban landscape considering both the cohesion of the visible or tangible physical elements of the landscape (ecological), as well as the visual elements, which refer to the formal or abstract compositional dimensions of the landscape (aesthetic). With the use of mixed quantitative-qualitative research techniques, the eco-aesthetic evaluation of the elements that define the degree of integrity and the degree of alteration of the landscape was carried out based on the study of representative alamedas in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. A methodology is proposed that allows to interpret the dynamics of the urban landscape in terms of biodiversity, ecosystem, balance and continuity between the natural landscape and socio-cultural systems. A reading of the transitions and changes that various urban phenomena produce in the configuration of the landscape is provided.
