ABSTRACT

: The article analyzes the family-housing connection, based on the relationship among some objective and subjective factors of the family life in the domestic environment, with the purpose of enriching the concept of habitability into the housing and contribute to improve the Cuban housing policy. The psychosocial perspective is assumed to investigate about the characteristics of family, as an explanatory component of the habitability. The case study made it possible to identify gaps in the normative documents in force in Cuba by analyzing the perception of a group of families about the satisfaction of their housing needs according to the peculiarities of their homes. To enrich the debate, two pairs of concepts are proposed: family-dwelling and objective-subjective, through which the phenomenon is studied.

: El artículo analiza la conexión familia-vivienda, en base a la relación entre determinados factores objetivos y subjetivos de la vida familiar en el ámbito doméstico, con el propósito de enriquecer el concepto de habitabilidad de la vivienda y tributar al perfeccionamiento de la política habitacional cubana. Se asume la perspectiva psicosocial para indagar acerca de las características del sujeto familia como componente explicativo de la habitabilidad. El estudio de casos permitió identificar las brechas existentes en los documentos normativos vigentes en Cuba, al analizar la percepción de un grupo de familias sobre la satisfacción de sus necesidades habitacionales de acuerdo con las peculiaridades de sus hogares. Para enriquecer el debate se proponen dos pares de conceptos: familia-vivienda y objetivo-subjetivo, a través de los cuales se estudia el fenómeno.
