Influencia de los elementos climáticos en el deterioro de las fachadas de edificaciones del barrio Colón

Resumen
Colón es uno de los barrios más antiguos de Centro Habana,
se encuentra cercano al Centro Histórico y forma parte del
centro tradicional de la ciudad. Este antiguo barrio presenta
un gran número de edificios con altos valores patrimoniales
lo que insta a investigar sobre la forma en que se han
enfrentado al deterioro acumulado de tantos años. La
influencia inevitable de elementos climáticos presentes en
el medio que rodea a las edificaciones, que unidos a otros
factores han provocado el desarrollo de procesos patológicos
que se pueden detectar mediante el estudio de lesiones
presentes en edificaciones con diferentes estados de
conservación y diferentes valores patrimoniales, es la principal
motivación de la presente investigación. La decisión de
estudiar las fachadas de algunas edificaciones
seleccionadas dentro del barrio responde a la relación directa
de esta parte del edificio con los elementos climáticos
presentes en el medio ambiente. De esta manera se desea
determinar la relación entre los materiales y elementos
constructivos que presentan los mayores problemas y las
lesiones que aparecen con mayor frecuencia en los edificios
más afectados por los elementos climáticos de mayor
incidencia como son el viento, la lluvia y la radiación solar.

Abstract
Colón is one of de most ancient quarter of Centro Habana,
It is near of de Historical Center and it is part of the traditional
center of the city. This old quarter has some buildings with
high heritage values, and for this reason it is interesting to
investigate how they have faced the deterioration
accumulated through the passing of years. The main
motivation of this investigation is based on the inevitable
influence of climatic elements present around the buildings,
and other factors that have caused the development of a
pathologic process which are being detected by studying
the injuries present in buildings with different conservation
conditions and different heritage values. The decision to
study the facades of some selected buildings of the quarter
is due to the direct relationship between of the buildings
and the climatic elements present in the environment. The
work also presents the relationship between materials and
constructive elements and the most frequent injuries
present in buildings such as the wind, the rain and the
solar radiation.
