SANTIAGO DE CUBA: LA CIUDAD HISTÓRICA Y SUS CALLES

Resumen

The streets of the historical city of Santiago of Cuba are container of undoubted and significant morpho-typological values. Its evolution and transformation are tightly united to the urban and social development of the city, formed since the multiple experiences settled durig five centuries. The conservation of this important component of the urban landscape became vital for the preservation of the cultural identify of the urban heritage.

Las calles de las ciudad histórica de Santiago de Cuba son contenedoras de
incuestionables valores morfotipológicos y significativos. Su evolución y
transformación están estrechamente vinculadas al desarrollo urbano y social de
la ciudad, conformado a partir de las múltiples experiencias sedimentadas a lo
largo de cinco centurias. La conservación de este importante componente del
paisaje urbano resulta vital para la preservación de la identidad cultural del
patrimonio urbanístico santiaguero.
